Permanent makeup can be extremely painful, expensive and eventually very unattractive. Before you do it, make sure you do the research and think of how you might look when you are 60 and maybe don't have the tightest skin anymore. It can also look very harsh, even if you just do eyeliner. It may save time for a while, but there are ways to be able to put on make-up in under 5 min and look like a million bucks. Many beauty salons offer permanant make-up. I would ask to see samples and if possible even talk to some of their clients who had the procedures done.





Tattoo shops normally don't do much in the way of the make-up.





Although I know how to do the permanant make-up, I don't anymore. However, the ink is different than regular tattoo ink. It comes in smaller containers and is sterile (it is used around the eyes). It also does not last as long (in the body) as regular tattoo ink and so must be reapplied every few years. The needles are normally smaller. By that I mean instead of using a bundle of say five needles, you might use a bundle of three. You will want to insure that the place follows the rules of sterilization and infection control just like in a regular tattoo shop because there is blood. Ask to see their equipment and how they do the procedure. In addition, ask about their training and license.





My other suggestions. Stay only with eyebrows, eyeliner, and depending on the artist lip liner and color. If they suggest cheek color, run screaming from the shop. Tattooed cheek color just never looks right. I would also avoid trying to use a regular beauty salon for scar cover-up on the face. It takes a REALLY skilled artist to do a great job and who wants a screwed up jpb on their face? Starting with the eyebrows, You/they should draw them in first so that you will see what they will look like. Use the rule of corner's of your eye and the pupil of your eye to amrk the edges and the arch. Think about your normal color and stay away from PURE BLACK. Remember the ink is permanent, it may fade but it does take it several years for that to happen. If you line the eyes, stay away from trends. Go with something very basic. You can always add the cat eyes or wings when you need them. If you decide to have the lips done, expect to have LOTS of swelling. You will look like Mike Jagger for a few days. The nurse that taught me, actually worked with a dentist who would numb up the lips for her to do the lip coloring because of the pain.





There will be pain. After all, you are getting needles poked into you! Yeah, not deep, but they are still poking you. You have the risks of infection, allergic reaction to the ink, and if the artist is not through with the cleaning of her equipment the spread of some nasty diseases.

Why would you want permanent make-up? The current make-up is sure to go out-of-fashion in another 2-5 years.





Just imagine, you being stuck with it when everyone else has the in-look !
